About me
I’m Sally Stevens and I’ve been hairdressing all my life – it’s all I ever wanted to do and all I can ever imagine doing. I’m just as passionate about it now as I was when I started.
I’m sure that part of the reason for my success is that I’ve always believed in the importance of continuing career development by going on many training courses.
Without doubt these have contributed massively to the success I have enjoyed in a number of national hairdressing competitions, which I mention below.

My training
I’ve trained with some of the top names in the industry including Jo Hansford, whose clients have included the Duchess of Cornwall, Angelina Jolie and Gwyneth Paltrow. She has been described by the US Vogue magazine as ‘the best tinter on the planet’.
I must also mention Trevor Sorbie MBE, another of the icons in the world of hairdressing. I met him whilst undertaking consultancy work for the French beauty company L’Oréal in Berlin and, as I explain in the ‘Wigs’ section, his influence led me to specialising in choosing, cutting and styling wigs for those suffering with hair loss.

Awards
I have twice been shortlisted as the South West of England and Wales finalist for the British Hairdressing Association’s Annual Awards. It’s the industry’s biggest and most prestigious – and it’s been a great honour.
In addition, on three occasions I’ve competed for the national L’Oréal colour trophy, a competition that’s held in London each year. Competitors use a ‘live model’ to predict catwalk ‘hair trends’ for the following autumn and winter – and I’m proud to say I’ve been placed third out of over 1000 entries.
